#AydenAdventures – MEL ICN SIN – Flights

First and foremost, to the mummies or daddies who have travelled with your toddlers on long haul flights by yourselves.

Come I clap for you!👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼*salutes*

This post is just going to touch on the most struggles I have traveling with Ayden which are mainly the flights. Everything else was manageable!

Since the hubs couldn’t take leave, I thought it would be a great adventure for Ayden and I to go back to Singapore and visit the fambam! I was looking at flight tickets and the cheapest direct flights was $1300 for Ayden and I. Maybe it was due to the Easter Holidays. Then, an idea struck maybe I can have a stopover in Seoul shop and see the cherry blossoms (since the husband is not a big fan!), well when else can I go to Seoul right? To my surprise, it only costed us $1100 from MEL – SIN(transit) – ICN – SIN – MEL on Singapore Airlines. I thought it was a great deal! So we booked it right away!

Weeks leading up to the travel date, I’ve become super nervous. I kept googling and pinteresting how parents deal with a toddler on long haul flights. Then I found out about a Quiet Book from a fellow mummy in my FB group. And I tried searching for it and realised how expensive it was. But I took it to the last minute, i cant even make it myself as we were running out of time and me working full time didn’t help either. So i went into Kidstuff at Westfield and ask if they sells them. Lucky me (i guess!) they have the last one in stock. My heart sank as the cashier kept my shiny $50 note into the register. 💸💸💸

Quiet_Book-10

None of the major stores like Toys R Us, Target or KMart sells them! Booo. And i strongly urge mums to put together a Quiet book if you have time. There are even mother groups that creates quiet book together.

I found a great no sew Quiet book if any mums are interested! Well, in all honesty do we even have time to sew?
http://www.andnextcomesl.com/p/the-3-day-no-sew-quiet-book.html

Spoke to a handful of mums from various groups, many packed a whole cabin bag of toys and whatnots and snacks for their lil tots. But traveling on my own, I don’t even have the capacity to carry so many bags on top of this “heavy” and active toddler of mine!

Instead, I packed his Toddler Pack with heaps of snacks (yes Ayden is a big eater. If you have food, he’ll be right behind you!), a couple of play dough packs, an unused wallet with heaps of cards and zips, The Quiet Book, several sticker sheets and his favourite Peek A Boo book.”Boy that will suffice won’t it”, how wrong I was! You’ll read about it soon hehe

The Melissa And Doug book was given by a friend while we were in Singapore and it was super awesome! Ayden spends heaps of time on it on the flight back! You can find the whole range at Officeworks!

This Melissa & Doug On the Go Water Wow Book allows you to colour by painting with water. It features 4 reusable pages and a refillable water pen so you can continue drawing over and over again.

Additionally, Instead of bringing our BabyJogger, I bought a $20 Kmart stroller for the trip. I can’t risk them destroying my favourite stroller 😣! This umbrella stroller is super easy to fold and very light indeed. My mistake was not using this stroller all the way to the gate and instead I checked it in with our luggage. It could have saved me the energy of carrying Ayden all the way to the gate! As the day arrived,  my packed Herschel backpack was filled with milk powder, bottles. wet wipes,  diapers essentials, sweater, extra clothes and Ayden’s toddler pack and off we go to the airport!

As we got to the airport, we were given an aisle seat and we have a seat blocked for Ayden as all bassinet seats were taken. Yay! Although I must admit we knew this before hand as a kind soul Mama from our SG Mothers a Group pulled strings for us to get  extra seats where bassinet is unavailable. I thought i was being the smart mama and booked the evening flight to coincide with Ayden’s bedtime! Oh no no no! As we sat buckled in our seats praying that the third seat will be vacant, I looked around and prayed so hard that Ayden will be on his best behaviour. As the door shuts, I squealed knowing that we had the whole 2nd last row to ourselves!

Ayden was just very curious with the lights; with the people around him, the remote, the screen, EVERYTHING! And nope he did not sleep until the last three hours to the flight! It was the hardest! I gave him toys, I let him watch videos of himself on my phone, snacks after snacks, played his play dough , flip his peekaboo books like a zillion times and even his quiet book didn’t last him at all.

Then I muster up the courage to let him walk down the aisle, this was about 10PM AEST. Lights were dimmed and passengers were trying to tucked themselves to sleep. And this tiny little fingers decided it was fun to poke everyone sitting on the aisle as he happily strut down the aisle 😧 I scoop him up with such struggle and walked towards the back so he can walk around the galley which is a bad idea since it was busy! I was drained by this time!

He was overtired and overstimulated. He kept hitting the monitor hence the person in front of us got annoyed. Then finally an air stewardess came to assist and entertained him while I dash to the bathroom! He played with the crew for a while and then I decided yes it’s enough for him a warm bottle of milk and tucked him to bed! This was 3 hours before we landed!

2AM SGT, it was a 2hour transit before our flight to Seoul. I let him walk around and made sure he exhausted himself! True as it is as we board our Singapore to Seoul Flight, he just slept through almost till we landed in Seoul! 👏🏼

Our flight from Seoul to Singapore was at 9am in the Morning. We were seated at the Bassinet Seat right in front of the Galley which is a horror! It was super noisy with chattering, laughters, slamming of trays and trolley!  I knew right then it was going to be a very bad flight! So Ayden had trouble sleeping due to the noises so he played, eat and watch TV. And finally asleep on me almost 1/2 of the flight. But it was a tiring flight to have him on my for 3.5hours! But I rather that than him walking around. He even played with his friend in the next bassinet!

And finally our last sector back to Melbourne was a breeze. We were on the 7:45am flight. He slept as soon as breakfast were served and woke up playing with an older gentleman beside us. He was partially well behaved on the flight.  And nap again. It was great when we found out we actually landed 45mins earlier than expected! I wonder how we did that!

Not all flights were horrible but it was very unpredictable how Ayden turns out in every flight and circumstance. Distractions and patience are the key! Personally, I won’t travel by myself with a 15mth old toddler again. Maybe I’ll distract him with an iPad next time which we are not used to since he doesn’t get screen time at home. Maybe in the future I will when Ayden can talk and we both can understand each other. It’ll be heaps easier!

#AliAnaFamille ~ Tasmania Part 1

Tasmania. An underrated destination but full of fresh goodness and sceneries. Although its just an hour flight from Melbourne, we never had plans to visit until recently, a group of friends went as a getaway and could not stop raving about how beautiful Tasmania (to be specific Hobart is!) This will be our first time traveling with another young family (which happens to be my cousin, Khai; his wife Ana and lil 5 month old K). We didn’t know what to expect and although we have travelled with Ayden earlier in the year to Singapore and Malaysia, he’s 3 months young then. An interesting road trip adventure we hoped it would be!

After weeks of researching, we decided to embark on the Great Eastern Drive – 4 hours road trip on the East of Hobart. Stretches of beaches, great seafood and a good road trip all around! With two infants in tow, we decided to base ourselves in the middle of the Great Eastern Drive; Bicheno! Which is roughly about 2-2.5 hours from Hobart Airport. Hence we would be about 2hours apart to the both ends of the great eastern drive and back down to the start.

It was a long anticipated trip for us. On the day we met at the departure lounge of Melbourne Airport since the cousin flew in from Singapore to Gold Coast, while transiting in Melbourne to Hobart. So it was a coincidence that we were on the same flight to Hobart. The flight was good for Ayden as it was his nap time, hence, he slept while i fed him in the plane. Once we arrived, Cramped with 4 adults, 2 infants and heaps of luggages in our white Mitsubishi Pajero that we rented from Thrifty; we set out on our drive.

I must say through experiences, most of our guests who comes from Malaysia or Singapore where their children were not used to being restraint in car seats have quite a hard time adapting to the Australian Road Safety laws whereby infants and children needs to be in a car seat at all times. But i completely understand since they are just not used to it. No-one likes to be restraint when they never had to previously.

GOPR3448.JPG

Back to our drive. We reached Hobart about 6:30pm, got our luggages and crammed everything and everyone into the rental vehicle, and by the time we left the airport it was almost 7:30pm! I must say i didn’t realised how small Hobart Airport was! As we set on our 2.5 hour drive,i must admit it was quite a scenic drive as the sunsets and through the lushes green. Yes 2.5hours with two infants can be a horror especially towards the end. Thank god K was asleep since its her nap time while Ayden was enjoying the ride until the last half an hour when he start to get restless and since i wasn’t sitting next to him, it was hard to calm him down. Thank god his snacks and nursery rhymes work a treat with Ayden.

Finally, (with a sore butt and cramped body!)we reached our lodging, Bicheno East Coast Holiday Park. As most of the Airbnbs were all taken up, i was actually very happy that we got to book this accomodation as it was very much affordable and conveniently located. We’ve got the two bedroom cabin. I never expected the cabin to be as clean, modern and nice as it is. Definitely, recommend this place to anyone who are traveling to Bicheno and looking for affordable lodging.

Two Words Too Fast!

Ayden just turned six months a few days ago! Oh my how time flies!

img_0149

And to celebrate he had his first Solids! Yay another milestone achieved! Oh this boy ate it all! His first bowl of Cerelac and me, I just beamed with pride! He looks so content eating his meal! We were so excited to feed him, we (ok not even!) I even got him an Airplane spoon! Haha OMG Newbie Parent Alert!

810f4b47-55c3-4b5a-8d25-8beed98d55f7
As excited as I was, part of me will miss this moments. He’s growing up so quickly! I want to be in every moment with him! As much as I can!

Work drains me all the time but the thought of rushing home to kiss this lil man forgets all the stress I had at work.

We did have a few unsettled nights especially when he is learning a new skill. It can be frustrating but quite rewarding to know that he is picking up new skills along the way. Very proud mumma!

img_0168

Because I work full time, it’s hard to go on play dates and when we do, it’s so nice to see him playing with other kids.

Mummy did had a movie matinee with her girlfriend while Baba looks after Ayden! Oh my it’s been a while! What a movie to watch as well! Bad Moms! It’s awesome! Every mom shld go for destress  movie night and watch the movie with their girlfriends! Highly recommended 😘

Trippin it with a Baby in Kay-EL Pt 2

During this vacation trip we shuttled between Singapore and KL twice! Hence, I see the need to write a separate post on our KL food escapades so that I could definitely remember some of these places as they are just too awesome.

As stated in my previous post, we didn’t really end up going anywhere much except for Pavilion for our main meals! Of course we can’t escape Tony Romas and the Teppanyaki place at Pavilion! It’s like our ritual to go to these two places each time we are at Bukit Bintang. But eventually we got bored.

We spent the day with Ali’s Aunt and Cousin at Bangsar. Had a pre Mother’s Day lunch at WonderMama. Although there are good reviews on TripAdvisor, unfortunately it didn’t cut it for me. Hmmm However I must say I absolutely love the 3 Layer Pandan drink they have on the menu! The Durian Krep was alright but I won’t order the Tom Yam Fried Rice again.

img_8525img_8530
In the evening, it starts to rain heavily and we couldn’t be bothered going to the Pavilion with Ayden in the carrier and crossing the wet roads and what nots. Thank God! Hariz called to ask if we are free! Yay! So that was the start of my amazing Satay experience! We had Satay at Jalan Keramat and I reckon that it was just AMAZEBALLS! Hariz brought us here yup in the pouring rain and it was so good. The satay was meaty and the meat was marinated incredibly! We love it! We did want to go again on our second trip but our trip was packed with itinerary (mainly shopping for me!)

img_8533

Sate Zainah Ismail

3437 Jalan Keramat, 54000 Kuala Lumpur

GPS Coordinates: N3 09.953 E101 43.403 Google maps location: http://bit.ly/bKpEWz

Tel: 03-4256-9973‎

We did drive around Hariz’s neighbourhood visiting the local night market and coffee shop for a late night Ramli Burger supper!

On our second KL trip, Instead of staying at Bukit Bintang we’ve decided to go for a change. We have never stayed anywhere else in KL except Bukit Bintang! So i suggested to stay at Qliq Hotel Damansara. Its a lil out of the way but its so close to most of the restaurants we would like eat in and boutiques that we want to shop at!

img_8831

Our first dinner, we went to Kopi & XOXO for dinner. Yes the Husband was hoping to catch a glimpse of his favorite, Nora Danish! Haha of course she wasn’t there. The food was not bad but so overpriced! We were hoping to have some GORPIS (Banana fritters with cheese and chocolate!) Unfortunately, they are not available! 😔 sad faces on the table boo!

img_0104
Such an honor to be invited to attend Hariz & Eka’s wedding! It was a beautiful reception and indeed very memorable! Of course our gang got to be one of the loudest there. So kecoh! Thank you for having us at your wedding! The food is sooo good! So lunch was settled! Whats next?

Shell Out! Heard rave reviews about it! And because i am such a Seafood fanatic! I thoroughly enjoyed myself! I love it! It was delicious! Dont care that Ayden was sleeping in the Ergobaby and me being a “great” mummy, i lay a napkin on his head while i devour all the seafood in the Shell Out signature Shell Bang sauce! Ohhh sooo good! Lol Bookings are Mandatory! You wont want to wait in this heat. I am pretty sure!

We did have a quick stint at the Kulcats Barrio. We just had desserts since we were still full from our seafood Fiesta! By the time we got there it was close to closing time as well! The Chocolate Pavlova was good, if only i still have a lil bit more space in the tummy to squeeze in more.

Before our flight back to Singapore, conveniently just beneath our hotel, theres the Thai Boat Noodles restaurant that everyone has been talking about! It was alright, not bad but i wouldn’t really rave about it. I love noodles and this, i guess you just got to try once. It’s enough for us. Portions are small, thats why people have been stacking up bowls of them as one is never enough. You can choose between two types of noodles and two types of meats too. It does come in array of ala carte side dishes! If you don’t fancy noodles, they have rice dishes too!

img_8860

img_8859

Shopping was a bit disappointing at Vendville and GardrobeHaus. Too much hype about it! End up getting heaps of stuff from ShopTwentyTwo at Bangsar! Now we know where to shop and what to eat!

Stumbled and now a must have!

I stumbled on the Milton Mini Portable Soother Steriliser at Woolworths but didn’t think nothing of it. And then I came across it again at Baby Bunting. After a month of seeing it in stores, I decided to check it out and thought it might be useful since Ayden drops his Dummy a lot! And even with the Dummy pinned to his clothes, it just goes on everywhere, tables, cot, floor and etc. And when I finally decide to purchase it, Neither Coles nor Woolworths stock it anymore! And I had to settle for a less attractive color at Baby Bunting. It costs about $10 and comes with 10 mini sterilising tablets.

The Milton Mini Portable Soother Steriliser cleans and sterilises dummies on the go in only 15 minutes.

Key Features and Benefits

  • BPA free
  • Sterilises in 15 minutes
  • Stays sterile for 24 hours
  • Comes with an adjustable strap
  • FREE INSIDE: 10 Mini Sterilising Tablets

The great thing is that you can reuse the same solution throughout the day and the adjustable strap means you can attach the Mini to your buggy or change bag so you can make sure you always have a sterilised soother to hand.

Before leaving home, simply fill the Milton Mini with cold water and add one Milton Mini Sterilising Tablet. The unique sponges inside the Mini absorb the solution to avoid spills as well as helping remove dirt from the teat. Add the soother, replace the watertight lid and after only 15 minutes the soother is sterilised and ready to use straight away with no need to rinse.

Another stumbled upon product! Was at Chemist Warehouse while picking out monthly necessities for Ayden and came across Milk & Co product range. What attracts me was the Nighty Night Room Spray!

Milk Baby Nighty Night Room Spray relaxes and calms your baby, preparing them for the perfect slumber! With just a few sprays, the lavender-based formulation works it’s magic. As the saying goes “you will find your bubba’s eyelids (and yours) are shut before they even hit the pillow”

I was sceptical at first but since it was on special; any two products for $15. I decided to purchase it and try it out on Ayden! So we had our regular bath time in the evening, massage and a little playtime, decided to spray it around the room and in his cot and bedding. Less than 5 minutes into it, he fell asleep on my arms! It was amazing! Although it was his regular hour nap after his bath, I tried it again during bedtime and amazingly he sleeps soundly! This is part of our nightitme routine now! Now i can’t wait to try the other products in their baby range!

This will definitely be one of those items I’ll pack together with the other essentials to make it into a Mummy Survival Kit for my gorgeous expecting girlfriends!

PS: Michael Klim and his wife created the Milk & Co range.

Ramadan, Eid and Milestones

5 months has passed. I try not to be paranoid or overstressed about Ayden’s developments, although, during our 4th month visit to the Maternal Health Nurse she did asked if he has rolled over. Which we shake our heads carefully. Then, exactly on his 5th month, 11th July, he rolled over from back to front and front to back, again and again! We were ecstatic! Ayden has always been surprising us of what he is capable of. One minute we are worried of his milestones, next minute he aced it! Oh don’t grow too fast my dear boy!

img_9881
And on the same day I embark on a difficult journey of returning to work. Full time period. It was hard and now coming on to my second week, I am gradually getting used to the routine. But I must admit I miss Ayden so much sometimes, I sprint the last 100 metres home just to see him. I am thankful and blessed I have my in laws to look after Ayden and send me photos every now and then to cure my missing-Ayden-syndrome.

img_9954

During the last visit to the MHN, she referred us to the Chiropractor as Ayden has a slight flat head. We are still thinking whether we should as it is not a major concern and is only a slight flat head. Chiropractors are not cheap at all each session is about $160! Maybe we will take him for one session just to see how bad the condition of his flat head. Gosh! We’ll see…

Winter has been depressing! Extra cold, Extra emotional! Mum just had a few surgeries to her eyes due to her deteriorating Glaucoma and I really wish that I could be there for with her instead. To help around the house and such. Times like these really pulled my heart strings knowing my parents are really getting oldL. Raya is quite not as cheerful this year but we do what we can for Ayden. InsyaAllah we are able to spend Raya in Singapore next year.

img_9792
We did had a few guests over during Ramadhan which was fun. We went sight seeing to several attractions and there were some that we’ve never been before. We even took a road trip to the snow ( yes with a 4 month old!) That was a bit of a distraction and a good road trip before I end my maternity leave ! Ramadan during winter is shorter too. 🙊 Sweet!

img_9403
Because of the cold weather, everyone in the house was sick one after another and that includes Ayden too! We even bought a humidifier for our room to help and it did surprisingly! It helps all three of us to sleep so much better! We even had to smother (haha this is just an expression!)  Vicks on his two tiny feets, chest and back! Oh my I never thought I would use the Nasal Aspirator on Ayden, but I couldn’t stand his block nose and surprisingly how good he feels after when he can breathe properly! Alhamdulillah he is so much better now!

I am trying to get the husband to wake up early on the weekends! So we can go out and spend some quality time! Being away at work sucks big time and trying to make up lost time is my excuse.

Oh boy #woesofaworkingmother they say!

Top 10 Things That Makes Motherhood a tad easier!

1. Bums Barrier Spray aka Spray on Nappy Cream by Nenni and Tom $24.95

Seriously, noone had the time shoving cream on baby’s bottom when you need to change diapers in 3 secs before bubs get hysterical!

2. Wondersuit (Two way Zips are a lifesaver!) by Bonds $39.95 (Bonds often have sales like 2 for $39 Wondersuits or alternatively can just pop by their Outlet stores for better cheaper deals too!)

The zip wondersuit in comfy stretchy cotton and cute prints with a 2-way zip!

The two-way zip feature means you can change busy bubs fast!

It has a protective zip cover so baby’s skin stays safe and fold over cuffs on feet for extra warmth and comfort.

Cosy cuff fold over mittens also prevent new bubs from scratching during the night (mittens available from size 0000 to 0).

No need for mittens or socks and changing bub can never get any easier! Win! We love anything Bonds!

3. Colic Calm $24.99

Ayden was a windy baby. He cries each time when he tries to poop or fart. It was a nightmare on those long nights when he keeps crying and we have done all we can! This. This my friend was our saviour. Mentally, physically and sanity!

We chose this to aid his gas problems, colic and even hiccups (yes those annoying high pitch ones!) below is the main reason why we got it as compared to the other gripe water in the market.

 100% Natural.
No Side Effects, but very effective in treating Colic, Reflux, Hiccups and Infant Gas.
Completely free of alcohol, sugar, simethicone, sodium bicarbonate (baking soda), herbal oils and extracts, wheat, gluten, soy, dairy, and animal products.

4. Cetaphil Baby Lotion $9.99

At one stage Ayden was having a rashes on his cheeks, we have got no idea if it was caused by milk or heat or just plain eczema. We started to clean his face with cold water using cotton balls and apply Cetaphil Daily Lotion and it clears up! Alhamdulillah 👆🏼we have been using this ever since for his whole body! Such a great moisturiser without leaving any sticky residue! I love Cetaphil products! We’ll be trying their body wash and shampoo next!

5. Ergobaby 360 Carrier, $229

1614

If you’re planning to travel without bringing your stroller, Ergobaby is your go to carrier! They recently released Ergobaby Adapt, however, we have not try that out yet since we just got the 360 carrier and love it, we will be using this for a while. When we were in the hot and humid KL and Singapore, Ayden sleeps peacefully in his carrier despite the heat. The carrier was a saviour, it was very comfortable and easy to wear! Most importantly, no backaches! I can carry him around all day in it! We did had an issue with the infant insert as it was quite tight for him, in the end we didn’t end up using it for the trip just the cushion, which you can just roll your swaddles/blanket as a base to push Bub up as an alternative. Love my Ergobaby! Such a great investment!

6. Curash Wipes

A422148

When Ayden was born, we were lucky to have been gifted with several necessities including diapers and wet wipes. We’ve tried most of the brands even! From Gaia to Coles Little Explorers, we love the Curash wipes! It was thick and very moist! And the best among all we’ve tried! There’s a couple of wipes that is a No No straightaway for giving Ayden nappy rash and even cuts! Not a happy jan for sure! We usually get them from Chemist Warehouse and if we are lucky when Babies R Us has its sale! We usually stock it up by buying the  box of 6 x 80 = 480 Wet Wipes when they are on sale usually $14-$15. We don’t pay anything more than that.

Curash Fragrance Free Baby Wipes are developed with your baby’s delicate skin in mind and the makers of Curash ensure they’re:

  • Soap free
  • Alcohol free
  • Fragrance free
  • pH balanced
  • Hypoallergenic
  • Kind to sensitive skin

7. Rosken Dry Skin Repair Cream $7.95

9314807045203_LL_1

Ayden has been suffering from Cradle Cap, it gets really flaky and dry. He has been scratching his head non stop, of course with all the red scratch marks and sometimes bleeding too! So we tried Cetaphil, it moist but it wasn’t moist enough for his cradle cap and we even got an overpriced cradle cap oil for $30 which doesn’t help either! Before i rush out to get the Mustela Cradle Cap shampoo which would cost us $20 a bottle, we tried Rosken. We’ve always had that in the bathroom, everyone in the family uses it especially during winter when the air is so dry! After 2 applications, no more flakes, his head is moist and not dry. And he wasn’t scratching as much as well! It was great! Saves us money too!

8. Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Feeding Bibs 2 pack $9.99

5010415635204_280_IDShot_3

Ayden is at the stage where he drools and drools and drools! He started drooling heaps at 3 months! The extra absorbent dribble catcher helps a lot  and he hasn’t suffered a neck rash from all the drooling! It may not be the best looking ones like those Nuby bandana teething bib which i love heaps but don’t absorb really well. This works and i don’t have to change it every now and then when i put this on for Ayden!

9. Milton Antibacterial 30 Tablets $7.70

Unknown-1

This pretty much sums up why it is awesome and saves me heaps of time! Especially when traveling, no-one can be bothered to boil the bottles or even bring the steriliser with you. This tablet is all you need. I even use the solution to sterilise Ayden’s toys, well whatever he puts in his mouth really.

Milton Antibacterial Tablets provide hospital grade disinfection in only 15 minutes. Clinically proven to kill 99.9% of germs. No need to boil or rinse and no residual taste remains. Ideal for disinfecting baby feeding accessories, breast pump parts, bottles, soothers, teething rings, small plastic toys, bowls, plastic cutlery, to name a few. Only 2 tablets are required to make 4L of antibacterial solution. Milton sterilising solution is reusable for up to 24 hours.

10. Maxi Cosi Mico AP Infant Car Capsule $399

Ayden literally loves to be in there, we can put him in and out of the car seat easily and clicked onto the pram (you may need to get the suitable adaptors according to your pram) without any hassle! Don’t even have to wake him up (you’ll soon realise it is the most important thing!)

It is indeed quite pricey but definitely recommend to just hire it as they can only use it for the first six months.

Other worthy items;

  • Closer to Nature Bottle Warmer

This wasn’t really a need. But oh wells waking up in the wee hours of the morning trying to make a bottle all while you’re half asleep was no joke!

So this really helps without the use of thermal flask and all the different bottles of water. In all honesty, if this wasn’t on sale on Catchoftheday.com.au for $19.90 i don’t think i will purchase it. Like i said it was more of a want due to convenience.

  • Breast Pump – Medela Swing

26735_1_medela_swing

Due to my low supply issues, Ayden refused to latch as he never gets enough milk and get fussy all the time. Indeed Breastpumps are a saviour. After using the Medela Swing which i got as a gift fortunately, it wasn’t bad but i feel like it wasn’t extracting or draining my milk efficiently. Single pumping is also another (-) if you are exclusively pumping.

spectra_s9_large

I’ve ordered a Spectra Breastpump and was pretty excited as i’ve heard such wonderful reviews on it. My milk has dried up unfortunately and relaxation failed for me. Thus didn’t end up utilising the Spectra 9+ as much as i want to. So for mum to be(s) i highly recommend that you buy a breast pump after you give birth, i knew mums who purchased prior to delivery and found that they do not need it after all  as they have tremendous supply and bubs latching on perfectly.

  • NUK Bottles and Pacifiers

Unknown-1.jpeg

Bottles are very tricky. I learnt during my pregnancy that no mums should stock up on bottles as their baby may not adapt well to that particular bottle. Fortunately again, i was gifted the Medela breastfeeding bottle set which includes the ever popular Calma Teat.

Ayden was having wind issues since Week 3. We never ever thought that the bottles were an issue. He began rejecting the Calma Teat and so we changed it to the Medela Slow Flow teats. He was drinking so well from it and we thought that it wasn’t caused by the bottles. Until his wind issues were getting too much and he was crying each time he needs to fart or poop. So as suggested by another fellow Mum, we decided to try the NUK bottles and being Disney freak parents, the bottles was a win!

Unknown.jpeg

The Anti Colic Air System is amazing and we can see such drastic difference in Ayden, his wind issues decreased largely. And he was more comfortable with the NUK bottles and pacifier.
